And I’m not talking about the stunning polar bear photo. I’m talking about two separate, but related, news articles.
A Gallup Poll said today that Americans’ Economic Confidence remains very low. In fact, by a two-to-one margin, Americans view the economy as “poor” compared to “excellent or good,” and a majority of Americans (55 percent) say the economy is getting worse.
Alone, this is “a solemn reminder that everyday Americans are not doing well in Obama’s economy,” but coupled with the budget that the White House released today, this is downright frightening.
You know the budget I’m talking about—the one that has $791 Billion in new spending, without even attempting to balance, and still managing to add $1.7 Trillion in new taxes. Yeah. That one.
At this point, you’re no longer wondering why Americans view the economy as “poor” and lack confidence in the future.
Clearly, something must be done. And it’s time that Conservatives step up to present an alternative that focuses on growing the economy and creating jobs to strengthen the middle-class, rather than pet projects that serve a narrow-view liberal agenda, and force Americans to do things like choose between food and healthcare. It’s time to show Americans what sound policy looks like.
