Happy Monday folks,
When President Obama takes the stage tomorrow night, more than six in ten Americans will not trust his judgment to create sound policy in 2014.
As Dan Balz and Peyton Mc. Craighill of The Washington Post recently noted, 63 percent of Americans do not “have either a good amount or a great deal of confidence in the president to make the right decisions for the country’s future.”
Five years into his presidency, the President and his liberal allies continue to make the wrong decisions about our nation’s economy. Take the economic inequality debate, for instance.
While previous SOTU’s have focused on it- just as tomorrow’s likely will- Americans resoundingly believe that the liberal answer to our economic problems is not the way to go.
According to the latest poll from YG Network, a whopping 64 percent of respondents said that “expanding economic growth for everyone” is more important than “narrowing the gap between the rich and the poor.”
An examination of the data shows that the desire to expand the economy for everyone has a wide consensus:
-
African Americans: 64 percent
-
Hispanics: 58 percent
-
Under 40 years old: 59 percent
-
Conservatives: 82 percent
-
Moderates: 63
It’s not enough for President Obama to merely advocate band-aids for the economy when so many Americans are hurting under his leadership.
Conservatives must take note: Americans from all walks of life are thirsting for strong economic growth that creates jobs.
Seize the day.
