Happy Friday folks,
Even though Americans continue to struggle to find good jobs and pay for the rising costs of groceries and gas in the Obama economy, the President recently decided to kick the Keystone XL pipeline decision down the road.
The move by Obama, which will “shield” liberals from political fallout, comes at the expense of sound economic policy.
Do the American people have President Obama’s back? According to a recent poll from Rassmussen Reports, the answer is a resounding NO! Their latest national poll “finds that 61% of Likely U.S. Voters now at least somewhat favor building the major oil pipeline from Canada to Texas, while just 27% are opposed.”
But instead of devoting energy to policies that will actually help people with their daily lives, President Obama and his allies continue to focus on their narrow, liberal agenda.
This strategy by the Left is also devoid of public support. According to a recent YG Network survey, a majority of Americans (55 percent) prefer the federal government focus on policies designed to grow the economy, like lowering energy costs, lowering taxes on small businesses, reducing regulations and cutting spending. And only 39% prefer the federal government focusing on policies that address income inequality, such as continuing to provide long-term unemployment benefits, increasing the minimum wage to $10 an hour and increasing taxes on the wealthy.
The American people have spoken: they prefer economic growth and job creation to the tired agenda of President Obama, Senate Majority Leader Reid, and House Minority Leader Pelosi.
What better time than now for conservatives to show what helpful policy looks like?
Seize the day.
