Stuck At Home: Young Americans Suffering In Obama Economy

Happy Tuesday folks,

Just yesterday, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said there is “‘absolutely no evidence’ that the Affordable Care Act will drive down employment,’ according to Politico’s Lindsay Kalter.

Sebelius, in a desperate attempt to show that Obamacare is not hurting the economy, apparently overlooked the fact that the Congressional Budget Office recently said, “the health care law will cause Americans to cut their work hours, equating to 2 million fewer jobs in 2017. That number is predicted to eventually rise to the equivalent of 2.5 million jobs in 2024.”

It’s also important to remember that small businesses have flat-out said that they will not hire more workers because Obamacare “would create an administrative burden.”

This insulated sense of satisfaction is rampant in the Obama Administration’s worldview, but middle-class Americans continue to struggle under its liberal agenda.

As Gallup recently reported, one in seven young adults aged 24 to 34 currently live at home with their parents (and more than half of 18 to 23 year olds live at home).

And of that population of 24 to 34 year olds, 14.6 percent are unemployed and 32.8 percent are underemployed.

Economic policies should open doors to greater opportunities, but President Obama and his congressional allies have only helped open the door back at mom and dad’s place.

Seize the day.
