As the Washington Times reports, Senate liberals “voted to refuse to enter into official negotiations with the House on a spending bill,” literally voting against coming to the table to forge a compromise.
And why? Because of Obamacare—a deeply unpopular policy that is earning yet another set of embarrassing headlines today as its exchanges stumble out of the gate with widespread glitches and malfunctions. Because when it comes to the law’s hefty mandates, they refuse to give middle-class Americans the same one-year delay that they gave big business.
From higher costs, to lost coverage, to employees’ hours being cut back and onerous new taxes, the failures of Obamacare and its many broken promises are well documented. Perhaps that’s why over 1.1 million people have watched YG Network’s “Stop The Sell” on YouTube, and why YG Network’s extensive polling (here and here), focus groups and recent dial tests show an intense middle-class disapproval of Obamacare and a strong desire for healthcare reforms that expand patient choice and use competition to keep prices down and ensure that Americans receive the highest quality of care.
Yet Senate liberals and President Obama refuse to listen to middle-class Americans, preferring instead to stubbornly stay the course, even if it means hurting middle-class families.
As Washington liberals’ rhetoric reaches a fever pitch—with Reid and others embracing “violent terms”and one liberal House member even referring to his colleagues as “Taliban”—it’s time for them to take a deep breath, acknowledge that the American people are asking to be protected from Obamacare’s harmful effects, and step up to the negotiating table.
