Obamacare is “Falling Behind”

How do you know where you should stand? Sometimes a little quiz helps. TIME has come up with a new spiel that compares your personality traits to those found in individual states- America’s Mood Map: An Interactive Guide To The United States of Attitude. (Give it a shot, it’s pretty fun.)
But when it comes to Obamacare, which The Hill’s Elise Viebeck recently noted is “falling behind,” it’s okay to be stand with the American people and remain skeptical of the law.
For example, liberal Senator Jeanne Shaheen has now called for a delay in Obamacare penalties. Yesterday, she “told the White House that individuals shouldn’t face penalties for failing to buy health insurance if technical problems with the new federal health-care website prevent them from signing up for an insurance plan,” according to Siobhan Hughes of The Wall Street Journal.
The technical problems and failed rollout are an enormous part of the Obamacare story, but it’s important to remember that the American people aren’t against the law because of a broke down website. The majority of Americans oppose the bill because it is an unfair law that puts extra burdens on individuals, small businesses, and families.
Senator Shaheen was right in the call for the delay in Obamacare penalties, but it would be even better if she, and other liberal lawmakers, implored the administration to lift the penalties altogether.
