Happy Opening Day folks,
Today, we are reminded that the start of baseball season brings out the best traits America has to offer: a fresh start, hope for the future, and hot dogs.
Obamacare, however, reminds us how much the liberal policy agenda of President Obama, Senate Majority Leader Reid, and House Minority Leader Pelosi hurts young people.
Take the latest research from AEI’s Scott Gottlieb and Kelly Funderburk, for example. In a recent Forbes post, Gottlieb and Funderburk showed “why so many Millennials have Obamacare sticker shock.”
For example, “Even someone earning $20K a year (the average salary for a full-time cashier) and eligible for Obamacare’s rich ‘cost sharing subsidies’ is still going to find coverage pricey.”
They correctly identify Obamacare as “age-based transfer of wealth,” because the law “intentionally keep[s] prices higher for young adults to subsidize older beneficiaries.”
With such a negative impact, it’s easy to see why only 26 percent of Americans support Obamacare.
The law’s damage also comes at a time when people are struggling with other bills. “For some reason, the Left believes that American families can just sit around and wait for Buffett’s billion, because they continue to focus on Obamacare and other policies that do not help grow the economy,” wrote YG’s John Murray in a recent post to Huffington Post.
Therefore, conservatives must continue to show that their policies can help the middle class while the liberal agenda continues to hurt everyday Americans.
Seize the day.
