Happy Wednesday folks,
In yet another half-hearted attempt to pivot to the economy, President Obama will discuss ways to train workers later this afternoon.
The American people, however, don’t believe that the liberal answers to our economic problems are working. According to a new Gallup poll, a majority of Americans believe the economy is getting worse (55 percent).
This means that President Obama’s liberal, Washington-based economic policy has not helped everyday Americans get through these tough times.
And based on recent polling from YG Network on economic growth and inequality, the American people don’t buy the Left’s desire to assert more control over the economy.
The majority of respondents, 55%, prefer the federal government focusing on policies designed to grow the economy, like lowering energy costs, lowering taxes on small businesses, reducing regulations and cutting spending.
Only 39% prefer the federal government focusing on policies that address income inequality, such as continuing to provide long-term unemployment benefits, increasing the minimum wage to $10 an hour and increasing taxes on the wealthy.
While President Obama and his liberal allies reinforce their goals of greater economic intervention by Washington, conservatives must show middle-class Americans that sound policy that lowers costs and expands opportunity is the best way forward.
That’s why YG Network is excited to announce that Reihan Salam will join the organization as a Policy Advisor. Salam is a nationally recognized reform-conservative writer and policy analyst who is a contributing editor at National Review and is a columnist for Slate and Reuters Opinion.
Seize the day.
