Happy Monday folks,
It appears that, despite the Administration’s best efforts for a positive-PR-spin, Obamacare’s unpopularity remains high.
By a whopping 13 point margin, Americans believe that Obamacare will “make the healthcare situation in the U.S. worse,” according to a new Gallup survey.
And as far as the overall approval rating goes, a majority of Americans (54 percent) disapprove of the law, while a mere 38 percent approve.
With so many problems with Obamacare- ranging from more cancellation notices to logistical nightmares- it’s easy to see why the American people are so upset with the law.
According to The Washington Post’s Ariana Eunjung Cha, a “second wave” of health insurance cancellations “will be far greater [than last year’s cancellation wave], potentially affecting millions of people who receive insurance through small employers by the end of 2014.”
Not only will many of the small-business cancellations take place because their policies don’t meet the Washington-based requirements of the law, but “insurers are trying to move customers to new plans designed to offset the financial and administrative risks associated with the health-care overhaul.”
And the law is not making healthcare logistics any easier. According to The New York Times’ Robert Pear and Abby Goodnough, Obamacare enrollees are unable to prove that they have coverage. “In addition to the difficulties many face in proving they have coverage, patients are also having a hard time figuring out whether particular doctors are affiliated with their health insurance plan,” wrote Pear and Goodnough.
In addition, “Many are also having trouble reaching exchanges and insurance companies to confirm their enrollment or pay their first month’s premium.”
Each passing day, Americans are reminded why Obamacare is an expensive, unfair law. Conservatives have a legitimate opportunity to provide sound policy alternatives to the American people.
Seize your Monday.
