Majority Of Americans Say Economy Getting Worse

Happy Wednesday folks,

While President Obama and his allies in Congress continue to focus on their liberal agenda, middle-class Americans are hurting. The Left’s vigor towards pet projects comes at the expense of broader economic growth.

This is not the policy focus that Americans want. A recent YG Network survey revealed that by a two-to-one majority, Americans say that expanding economic growth for everyone is more important than narrowing the gap between rich and poor.

Given that economic growth is the priority for most Americans, it’s not surprising that they are not satisfied with where President Obama’s focus has been. A new Gallup survey shows that a majority of the country- a whopping 55 percent- believe that the economy is getting worse, while only 40 percent of respondents said the economy is improving.

The employment outlook in the Obama economy is outlook for many Americans in this economy, butNational Journal’s Nancy Cook recently chronicled how it is particularly tough for teens. Recent data indicates that we’re in for “potentially another summer in which too many teenagers are unable to find work, years after the recession officially ended,” according to Cook.

Strong economic growth needs to be the focus to help get Americans back on their feet. It’s unfair to the middle class that President Obama, Senate Majority Leader Reid, and House Minority Leader Pelosi continue their focus on a narrow-viewed agenda.

Seize the day.
