Happy π day folks,
While pi itself might be a difficult number to wrap one’s mind around (3.14 … who knows?), the latest figures about Obamacare’s negative impact are straightforward. Bloomberg’s Caroline Chen recently noted, “[f]our of five U.S. companies have raised deductibles or are considering doing so as health costs increase.”
According to a recent survey conducted by Mercer LLC, about one-third of companies have “already increased deductibles or other cost-sharing provisions like co-pays,” while 48 percent of companies are “considering similar moves.”
The employers are taking such action because they are “looking for ways to trim expenses as health-care costs continue to rise and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act increases required benefits and imposes new taxes.”
The burden that is caused by Obamacare is downright unfair for the American people. (even labor unions agree!)
A liberal political strategist, recognizing that the American people view it as a disastrous law, recently vented about liberals’ association with the law: “We’re really hurting from Obamacare.”
It’s unfortunate that the strategist feels that liberal lawmakers are the ones hurting from Obamacare. The middle-class families who are suffering from reduced work-hours, higher premiums, or reduced access to their preferred doctors are probably losing sleep because those who made and supported the law are “really hurting.”
π the day.
