The Middle East remains one of the worlds most unpredictable and conflict-ridden regions. The political instability that has swept across the region suggests that Israel may be America’s only reliable ally in the region.
The United States must formulate policies that encourage and support the emergence of democratic governments in that region as well as addressing the challenges posed by the rising power of Iran and the continuing Israeli–Palestinian conflict.
