Happy Thursday folks,
What do President Obama, Leader Reid and Leader Pelosi have to show for their policy agenda? A weak labor market and a record 49.7 million poor people.
Earlier this morning, Gallup released the latest payroll to population figures (estimation of the percentage of the U.S. adult population “who are employed full time by an employer for at least 30 hours per week.”), and they don’t look good.
The “P2P” rate for October 2013 (43.8 percent) is lower than October 2012, (45.7 percent).
Simply put, the labor force is small and the economy is barely lurching along.
In addition to the labor market figures, here’s a stat that people of every ideology should bring up to President Obama and his liberal allies: “The number of poor people in America is 3 million higher than the official count” (which is 46.5 million people), according to the AP’s Hope Yen.
The statistic originates from a formula originally designed by the Obama Administration to incorporate living expenses and government aid, and it shows that large government programs are not pulling people out of poverty. Instead, the data shows that people are trapped in it. Now is the time for a positive, actionable conservative agenda that gets people working again.
This is why a law like Obamacare is the wrong policy for the American people. At a time of economic uncertainty, the healthcare law is raising costs on families and cancelling people’s insurance policies.
Recent ads from YGN that highlight the fumbled rollout have been getting some attention, so if you haven’t checked them out yet, maybe these descriptions will get you hooked!
Nikki Schwab, U.S. News & World Report: “One center-right group is offering a snarky behind-the-scenes peek at what life at the firm behind the Obamacare website is really like. On Wednesday, conservative organization YG Network released the video “Marge,” jokingly suggesting that the Healthcare.gov contractor brought in a “crazy cat lady” to fix the buggy website.”
Kelsey Osterman, Red Alert Politics: “In response to the failures of Healthcare.gov, the Obama administration has called in a tech surge to fix the problems — in the form of Marge the crazy cat lady.
Alex Jaffe, The Hill: “The staffer then nervously takes a swig from a flask as an Obama bobble-head figure watches over his shoulder. … YG Network is targeting young voters with its advertisements, running them on Xbox, as YouTube pre-roll, promoted posts on Facebook and Twitter and on youth-targeted websites.”

From healthcare to job creation, the American people deserve better than what they’re getting from the Left’s agenda.
Seize the day.
