Gallup: Job Loss Would “Lead To Hardship For Many In US”

Happy Friday folks,

In a time of economic uncertainty, President Obama and his liberal allies should devote their attention to helping Americans get back to work. Unfortunately, they put all of their eggs in their liberal pet-project basket.

As a result, middle-class Americans continue to suffer through weak economic growth and a job market that Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen says is more than two full years away from being healthy.

Not only is the job market sluggish, but because prices for things like healthcare, higher education, gas and groceries continue to rise, the American people are on thin economic ice.

A recent Gallup survey shows that, “Six in 10 workers younger than 35 could go only one month or less before experiencing hardship, compared with 39% of workers aged 35 to 54 and 25% of workers aged 55 and older.”

We simply don’t have a robust economy that helps people to look beyond their short-term financial struggles.

Recall a January report from the Corporation for Enterprise Development, which found that “nearly half of Americans are living in a state of ‘persistent economic security,’ that makes it ‘difficult to look beyond immediate needs and plan for a more secure future.’”

President Obama’s liberal agenda isn’t working, so a conservative vision for a sound economy must include a plan to help everyday Americans deal with their financial situations.

Seize the day.
