CMS Administrator “Really Tired Of Talking About” Obamacare Site

Happy Friday folks,

Yesterday, while giving the keynote speech at the Health Care Information and Management Systems Society conference (say that ten times fast), CMS Administrator Marilyn Tavenner complained that she is “‘really tired of talking about’ Healthcare.gov,” according to The Wall Street Journal’s Clint Boulton.

Unfortunately for Tavenner and the rest of the Obama Administration, being tired of talking about Obamacare’s problems does not make them go away.

Even on the state level, Obamacare exchange problems persist. In Maryland, for example, “A problem with Maryland’s defective health care exchange could cost the state $30.5 million, because the state is unable to determine whether people remain eligible for Medicaid,” according to the Associated Press.

And things aren’t looking much better for Hawaii’s Obamacare exchange. “With anemic enrollment by individuals and little interest among small-business employers, the state’s nonprofit exchange — known as the Hawaii Health Connector — is unlikely to have enough money to pay its bills,” wrote The Los Angeles Times’ Maeve Reston.

The logistical problems of Obamacare are bad in their own right, but conservatives must remember that the law’s true negative impact lies in the fact that it raises costs for hard-working Americans and that “Cities, counties, public schools and community colleges around the country have limited or reduced the work hours of part-time employees” because of the law.

It’s unfortunate for the Obama Administration that they are tired about discussing Obamacare’s woes, because they’re not going away anytime soon.

Seize the day.
