CBS News Poll: Americans Say Economy Is In Bad Shape

Happy Tuesday folks,

In many areas across America today, the snowfall might remind people of the North Pole.

Conversely, the poll numbers on the President’s agenda continue to head south.

According to Amie Parnes of The Hill, “President Obama is once again turning to populism to reinvigorate what has been a lackluster second term.” But which audience will this “turn to populism” address? Even his typical campaign-style rally will not be able to mask the fact that the nation overwhelmingly disapproves of his policies and that people are still sour on the economy.

A brand new CBS News poll reveals that, “most Americans (61 percent) continue to say the economy is in bad shape.”

Will the President try to look middle-class Americans in the eye and tell them to stick with his policies? It’d be a bad move, because “only 23 percent of households making less than $50,000 think it’s getting better,” according to the CBS poll.

And a new McClatchy-Marist poll reveals that President Obama has the “worst ratings of his presidency”- 53 percent disapproval and 43 percent approval rating.

It’s easy to see why President Obama’s approval ratings are so low. His liberal agenda has hurt millions of Americans.

For example, the healthcare law that he, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid created is driving up costs and reducing access to doctors.

Pauline Bartolone of Kaiser Health News recently wrote a headline stating, “Some California Insurance Plans Narrow Doctor, Hospital Choices,” and The Cincinnati Enquirer recently reported that, “Obamacare Exchanges Have Limited Physician, Hospital Networks.”

American families work too hard to see their tax dollars spent on harmful and wasteful programs like Obamacare. They deserve economic and healthcare policy that makes them as happy as Buddy the Elf is about maple syrup. What they’re currently getting from the Left is simply unfair.

Seize the day.
