Happy Mardi Gras folks,
Today, as President Obama plans to discuss his budget, the most important thing to consider is how middle-class families have fared under his tenure.
When looking at the latest Economic Confidence Index from Gallup, it’s clear that Americans do not think the economy is going well.
The two components of the index, “Americans’ views on the current economic situation and their perceptions of whether the economy is getting better or worse,” are a solemn reminder that everyday Americans are not doing well in Obama’s economy.
By a two-to-one margin, Americans view the economy as “poor” compared to “excellent or good.”
And a majority of Americans (55 percent) say the economy is getting worse, while only 40 percent believe it’s getting better.
The President’s budget must focus on growing the economy and creating jobs, rather than pet projects that serve a narrow-view liberal agenda. Conservatives must continue to show Americans what sound policy looks like, because Americans deserve policies that grow the economy and lower the costs of things like healthcare, education, gas and groceries. The President’s budgets have fallen short of those goals.
Seize the day.
