Americans: The Minimum Wage Will Cost Jobs, Not Spur Growth

economicSurvey_4
As the U.S. economy continues to struggle, it is low-wage workers who feel it most. But as YG Network’s recent poll about income equality revealed, Americans know that a minimum wage hike is not the answer to our problems.

One of the poll’s many interesting findings, it found that only 33% say that more jobs will be created if the minimum wage is raised to $10 an hour. The plurality, 42%, says more low wage workers will lose their jobs.

In trying economic times, everyday Americans can’t afford risky policies and half-measures. The best way to create new jobs and pay raises for working middle class families is by holding the line on taxes and reducing regulations on businesses. This approach will create the economic growth and new private sector jobs we need. And nearly 6 in 10 agree.
