Adam J. White, one of the authors in Room to Grow, knows energy policy. But when a few liberal authors started changing the discussion about his policy recommendations, he took to the Weekly Standard to set the record straight.
As White writes, “My paper goes out of its way to stress that natural gas development does require us to think seriously about the risks of groundwater contamination, and to be modest enough to realize that there may be other risks of which we’re not yet aware. When Chait and Yglesias demand more talk about climate change…their goal is not to start a meaningful discussion, but to end it.”
It’s not easy challenging naysayers, but Room to Grow is full of good ideas like White’s, and perhaps more importantly, it focuses on helping the middle-class—something that the Obama administration has categorically failed to do.
