The liberal agenda championed by President Obama, Senate Majority Leader Reid, and House Minority Leader Pelosi continues to wreak havoc on the pocketbooks of everyday Americans.
Take Obamacare, for example. Aside from the other disastrous elements of the law, “A federal actuarial report predicts that 65% of small businesses will see their health-insurance premiums increase,” according to The Wall Street Journal’s Jennifer Corbett Dooren.
This percentage translates into higher healthcare premiums for 11 million people under the community-rating provision of the law.
It’s clear that the Obama agenda is not working. That’s why it’s imperative for conservatives to continue to make the case that the liberal worldview doesn’t work in real life.
However, more must be done to demonstrate to the American people that conservatives are on their side.
“It’s really important to us to assert conservative solutions, because so many people are hurting,” said House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, in a recent discussion with The Wall Street Journal’s Jerry Seib.
Seib outlined some of Cantor’s suggestions, including the need to “embrace changes in federal job-training programs, while also pushing more predictable ideas for easing regulations on energy and manufacturing, and tax reductions on the middle class.”
Americans deserve a government that works for them to help create better opportunities for them and their families. It’s unfair that the President continues to prioritize his pet projects over broad economic growth.
