Happy Thursday folks,It’s a busy Thursday morning, so let’s all dive right into the details of a brand-spankin’-new New York Times/CBS Poll.
First, data from the broad-view questions indicate that Americans are upset with where liberal governance has taken us. For example:
- Americans maintain their distrust of the liberal agenda, as President Obama’s approval ratings are ten points underwater (51 percent disapprove; only 41 percent approve).
- By almost a two to one margin (63 percent to 32 percent), Americans believe that things have “pretty seriously gotten off on the wrong track over feeling that things are going in the right direction.
- Almost half of Americans (48 percent) disapprove of President Obama’s handling of foreign policy, while only 39 percent approve.
- Nearly six in ten Americans (57percent) disapprove of President Obama’s handling of the economy, while only 38 percent approve.
- More than six in ten Americans (62 percent) say that the economy is either “fairly bad” or “very bad,” while only 35 percent say that the economy is fairly good.
While it’s clear that Americans disapprove of the liberal worldview, data about their everyday sentiments reveal that liberal policies have failed them, including:
- More than eight in ten Americans (81 percent) are either “very concerned” or “somewhat concerned” about their income keeping up with the costs of living, while only 18 percent are either “not too concerned” or “not concerned at all.”
- As the Affordable Care Act goes, only six percent of Americans say that Obamacare is “working well and should be kept in place as is.”
Six percent. That means there are a lot of people out there that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid must think are telling “horror stories” that are “untrue” about Obamacare.Liberals can no longer hide the public’s disapproval of their agenda. Americans are waking up to the fact that President Obama and his liberal congressional allies have made it harder for them to pay for everyday things like gas and groceries, to bigger expenses like education and healthcare.
That was a lot of data. Don’t worry though, it’s almost Friday and you got through it!
Seize the day.
